Frequently asked questions
What makes Cyprus better than other countries for obtaining EU citizenship?
Cyprus has a simplified system for obtaining citizenship. Typically, the whole process takes no more than 3 to 5 months, while in Malta, for example, it takes at least one year.
Can the parents of the investor get citizenship too?
Parents may obtain citizenship together with the main applicant if he/she buys an additional property from €500,000.
Can I apply for an EU passport if I only buy one property?
An investor can purchase one or more properties, but the total purchase price should exceed €2 million.
When can I sell the property?
After three years, the investor can sell up to $1.5 million of the acquired assets, leaving only the "anchor" real estate worth at least €500,000.
